no...the web design girl isn't my real name.
Ok, so no.. I haven't legally changed my name to the above mentioned (yet). So for all intents and purposes, I'm usually referred to as Gretchen. Although the names Gidget, Gigi and Gretch (along with several other rhyming ones from grade school but who wants to rehash that?!) have rolled off many tongues. I personally don't care what you call me...just as long as you call... or email works fine too.
I was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee and I'm a mom of two. I'm also an avid runner averaging 20 + miles a week and I am addicted to running races throughout the year - I did 17 last year and look to double that in 2012! I've been in the field of marketing and graphic design for almost 9 years now. Several years ago, I began my path as a marketing director for a management company and then from there moved on to become a publishing director for a local Chamber of Commerce where I received my TMP (Travel Marketing Professional) certification as well as extensive training in marketing, graphic and web design. I've worn many hats over the past several years of my career, but by far my favorite is in graphic and web design. I've worked with local businesses and non-profit organizations over the past several years designing some of what you can find on my portfolio page.
I continue to expand my knowledge of web technology so I can offer the upmost, professionally designed websites possible. I'm a front-end developer which means I create the design from scratch - no templates, write the code and implement the whole design process working with my favorite partners: photoshop, xhtml, css, and javascript.
I am passionate about what I do and I truly LOVE doing it. When I do something, I put all of my heart and soul into it and when your business succeeds - I succeed. As the old saying goes, "love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life." So true!
XOXOXO,
Gretchen
